Candle Care

Know before you glow! Here are some quick and easy ways to care for your wooden wick candles. Wooden wick candles burn a little bit differently than cotton wicks, so these tips are here to help you get the best possible burn from your candles.

1. Trim your wick.  If the wick is too long, it cannot absorb the wax and burn properly; The wax acts as fuel for the flame.

2. When you light your candle for the first time, let the wax pool all the way to the edges of the container. This should take 2-3 hours. If you don't, the wax will tunnel.

3. Trim your wick again before you light up your candle. The burned edge of the wooden wick has given its all for your candle flame. The charred bits need to be removed or your wick won't take to being re-lit. We suggest using a wick trimmer for this, but if you don't have one, a scissor will work, too. If you can't find either one, you can very gently break off the cool, unlit charred bits of wick with your fingers. The charred bits will gently snap off.
